James Fraser James Fraser, MD. Dr. Fraser completed a thirty-year Navy career and retired as a Captain (O6) in December 1973. He holds degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Master of Public Health and Doctor of Medicine, all from the University of Oklahoma. He is certified in the specialties of Preventive Medicine (Aerospace Medicine) and Family Practice. He is a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Practice. He is an emeritus member of the Society of U.S. Naval Flight Surgeons where he served as President 2002 - 2003. In January 2004, he was selected for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Executive Service and served as the Manager, Medical Specialties in the Office of Aerospace Medicine at FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In April 2006, he was appointed the Deputy Federal Air Surgeon. In February 2014 he was appointed the Federal Air Surgeon. He retired from the FAA in January 2017 and currently serves as a consultant to the Allied Pilots Association.
