Speaker
Denece Kesler, MD, MPH, is a Professor and the Preventive Medicine Section Chief in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico, where she is also the founder and Program Director for the Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency program. Dr. Kesler dedicates her career to preventive medicine, with a focus on occupational and environmental medicine as well as public health and general preventive medicine. Dr. Kesler is the Director of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health Promotion at UNM, serving as a consultant to both University departments and to community organizations, with an emphasis on health and safety in research facilities and in health care settings. She has a history of medical education for practicing physicians both at the University of New Mexico and in the external positions, to include having held the positions of Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Preventive Medicine Review Committee and Chair of the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
